What is the cancellation policy at Let’s Pretend?

We have a 48 hour cancellation policy – we will offer a refund or an option to re-book if you give us at least 48 hours notice.

What can I expect when I arrive at Let’s Pretend?

Please arrive at your chosen booking time. We aim to open our doors approximately 5 minutes before the session starts. Unfortunately we are unable to let people in any earlier, as we’ll be cleaning and setting up for the session. A member of staff will check you in for your booking. All visitors will be asked to remove their shoes and take their belongings to their chosen table. Please feel free to bring slippers or soft indoor footwear for your visit.

Why do I need to provide mine and my child’s details?

Personal details are only taken to manage your booking. We need these details to check customers in to each play session. Your details will not be shared with any third parties and you will only be contacted with regards to your booking or responding to a specific enquiry, unless you have signed up to our mailing list.

Are there rules in place at Let’s Pretend?

Please see our Rules of Play‘ page found in the footer menu of our website. This gives simple guidance for our visitors to follow and is there to ensure the safety of yourself, your child and others around you. If you are found to be breaking any of the ‘Rules of Play’, a member of staff may issue warnings and you may be asked to leave.

Who supervises children?

All children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian aged 18 years old or over. They must supervise and observe children at all times. Let’s Pretend staff are here to provide any further assistance and to make your time here enjoyable.

Is there an age restriction?

Let’s Pretend is aimed at pre-school children, but we know that children of a variety of ages will enjoy playing here – especially if they are coming along with a sibling. Children can be up to 10 years old to play at Let’s Pretend, but must follow our Rules of Play. Babies in arms are welcome and are free of charge. For each booking there must be at least one child.

What are the opening hours?

We are open in line with our play sessions for which there are different opening times at the weekend as the play sessions are longer.

Our weekday play sessions are from 9.30am, 11.30am, 1.30pm and 3.30pm.

Our weekend play sessions are from 9.15am, 12.15pm and 3.15pm. If you have any questions about our opening hours or session times, please contact us.

Is there a time limit to the play session?

Weekday play sessions are all 1.5 hours, and s weekend peak play session lasts 2.5 hours and off peak last 2 hours. We will call out a reminder when there is 5 minutes left in the play areas and then 10 minutes left in the barn. . When the session ends, we kindly ask that everyone leaves promptly so that we have time to thoroughly clean and prepare for the next session.

What if I’m running late for my play session?

Our play sessions are fixed times, so if you miss the start, you will still have to leave the play areas at the same time as everyone else so that we can re-set for the next session.

Why am I not allowed to bring food in?

We have a lovely café in Let’s Pretend which caters for all food and drink tastes, as well as dietary requirements. We therefore do not allow people to bring their own food and drink.

What kind of food and drink do you serve?

Our menu is full of nutritious, locally sourced food. We serve Breakfast, lunches and light bites, plus a kids menu. You’ll find a selection of Fair Trade tea and ethically sourced coffee from Manumit. Plus a range of cakes and snacks. See our menu page for full details.

When is ‘last orders’ for food and drink?

Last orders for food are 30 minutes before the end of each play session. Visitors will be asked to leave at the end of their play session, unfortunately we cannot allow people to stay on in the cafe once the session has ended, as we need to empty our Play Barn so that we can clean and set up for the next session.

What should we wear?

Kids should wear comfortable clothes that are suitable for play. On arrival all adults and children are required to remove their shoes and wear socks. We operate a no shoes policy in the building, but socks must be worn at all times. You are welcome to bring your own slippers.

Can I take photographs and videos?

You are permitted to take photographs in Let’s Pretend, but please only photograph your own child/children, and be respectful of other people’s privacy.

Where can I find Let’s Pretend?

We are at Priory Farm, Sandy Lane, Nutfield RH1 4EJ. Our barn is the second barn along from the Farm Shop (next to the Gift Barn). We are on the opposite side of the road to Priory Farm Nursery and Discovery Walk.

Is there parking at Let’s Pretend?

We have 40 parking spaces allocated to Let’s Pretend. Please park near to our barn and not in the Farm Shop area as these spaces are for customers using the shop.

Can I bring in pushchairs?

In order to maintain a high level of cleanliness unfortunately prams are not permitted within our café or play area. Upon entering all prams must be left in our buggy park which is situated by the doors. Should you wish to, you are welcome to bring in car seats or alternatively we advise bringing a sling or baby carrier. 

How are you cleaning between each session?

We use anti-bacterial spray to wipe down our surfaces and play equipment, both during and after each play session. In 2020 we installed an advanced air purification system that removes viruses (including Covid-19) from the air. We are confident that Let’s Pretend is one of the safest places to be with your children.
